This opening track is merely our man "Blue" looking back at the thing that destroyed his life. He deduces the technology to its basic language, binary.
He realizes how silly it is that such a simple thing let his life get away from him. He acknowledges that it will only get worse from here.
lyrics
It was all just zeros and ones
The time we spent logging on
Playing games in different rooms
We promised we'd go offline soon
But one link would lead to the next
Bloodshot eyes and sore, strained necks
All the colours we could stand
Soaked up but forgotten in the sand
We were only halfway there
We were only halfway there

Great progressive rock from Rick Miller. Plenty of flute, vocal harmony, and strong guitar work. While many prog rockers are very uneven across their albums, Rick's characteristic songwriting approach never lets down but delivers a solid, consistent approach. Highly recommended! Dogger Dog
